on the meaning of things

Why take the trouble to live if you must die? Because all is subjective, objective appearing to me as a fallacy, difficult it is to take things in a non-personal way. Therefore all I may say will come from a personal point of view. Religions try to explain reality in a partial way, based upon the sectorial experience of various peoples in the Earth, but I was born an agnostic, surprised at the unexplainable character of what was around me. I could say I was not born completely. Part of my self remained in the womb, recoiling from a world I didn't feel I belonged to. I somewhat envied those that found no problem in accepting the given definitions and I respected in awe their rituals and how seriously they undertook their given tasks. But I was the outsider. Being the outsider leads you to permanent search for the meaning of things. Self expression through art (whatever that may be) somehow fills the void, at least during the process of creation. But reality and society always manage to make everything its own and as rebellious as you may want to be, the universal mother of establishment will generously take you as its child. |
